Physical Description:
Benoit’s most striking feature is his Shiawase Ikon-Ziess cybereyes, with custom gold irises, two matte black housings located around his orbital sockets that allow his mirror shades to snap into place as desired.
Though he typically wears well tailored suits, and his trademark long coat, any casual observation will reveal that he is heavily augmented with cybernetics. His limbs have been replaced with Shiawase Daimyo cybernetic limbs, all of which are a matte black due to the ballistic sheath that protects them, his torso has been reinforced through bone lacing to support the weight and housings for his augmentations.
Early Child Hood & Education:
Fatima Paradis was a Matrix Intrusion & Surveillance Officer for La Gendarmerie which polices the entire Republic of Québec. While working in Montreal, she met a charismatic, savvy, street hustler named Jérémie Thibault. She managed to extricate Thibault from a ‘business’ arrangement he had made with the Hellriders, a powerful Montreal gang with underworld ties and connections. When she returned to Québec, he moved with her, and over the next few months shared a whirlwind romance punctuated by intense highs, and vicious arguments. When she finally revealed that she was pregnant, Thibault true to his street hustler nature, fled from the responsibility, and nine months later Bryant was born.
Fatima raised her son alone, though she let him keep his father’s name, Champagne; she informed him, when he was old enough to ask, that his father was an informant with whom she had made a mistake. When Bryant was old enough to attend school, he was enrolled at L’École Des Ursulines De Québec, a French Catholic Institution. With the Crash 2.0 in ’64, there were ever increasing demands on her time as a member of La Gendarmerie. As such Fatima enrolled her son at Collège militaire royal de Saint-Jean, a reputable military boarding school. Bryant, disciplined and focused, excelled at both his studies and physical training, and graduated with full honors in ’69.
Post Graduate Military Career:
Upon graduation he applied to Groupe d’intervention de la Gendarmerie République, the Gendarmerie’s rapid response, anti terrorism unit. He was accepted and assigned to CB, or Chef de Bataillon, Stan Luis Simard. He served with the unit for a year, before he was informed that his mother had developed a rare degenerative disease, which was aggressively attacking her spinal column. He returned to Montreal to be with his mother in her final weeks, when she finally passed he resigned his post in the GIGR and entered the private sector.
Post Military Employment:
Youcef Fares Constantineau, the CEO of Tetreault Transhuman Technologies, a small firm making it’s presence felt in the field of cybernetic inferfacing software, hired Bryant as the Head of Security based on his training and service with the GIGR, and a recommendation from C.B. Simard. Constantineau had structured his company around Iris Suzanne Chase, one of MCT’s subject’s from their Hong Kong studying the effect of the Crash 2.0 and the subsequent increase of Resonance throughout the Matrix. Constantineau had paid, heavily, to ensure that Ms. Chase was successfully extracted from their Hong Kong facility prior to the MCT Incident in early ’70. Her abilities as a Technomancer allowed his company to leap to the forefront of their field, but due to her upbringing and subsequent capture by MCT, she had key components of her psyche profile that he could manipulate.
Constantineau had also evaluated Bryant’s profile, and based on the disappearance of his father, his mother’s death, and his loyalty to the R.Q., he determined that he could match Bryant to Ms. Chase and allow their co-dependency markers to bring them together in a manner that would keep Bryant loyal to the Company, and dedicated to the safety of Tetreault’s largest asset, Ms. Chase herself.
MCT Infiltration & Extraction:
Constantineau also hired a Financial Officer, Victor Josep Vilar, who worked with Tetreault during it’s formative years. What Constantineau was not aware of, was that Victor Vilar was in fact, Miguel Andres Parrilla, an MCT Counter Intrusion Agent. Parrilla, posing as Vilar, grew close to Ms. Chase, and in time began to feel attached to his target. When Constantineau hired Bryant, he opposed his value to the firm, but ultimately acquiesced as he did not wish to draw attention to himself, as he planned the eventual extraction of the target to whom he had grown close.
As Bryant and Iris grew closer, and more intimate, he grew increasingly jealous of Bryant and Ms. Chase’s affections for him. This drew Bryant’s attention, and as he began to scrutinize Parrilla’s cover, he began to note inconsistencies. Parrilla became aware that his cover was about to be compromised and accelerated his extraction plan. He assembled his MCT Extraction team, and hit Tetreault before Bryant had an opportunity to expose his infiltration to Constantineau.
During the extraction Parrilla ensured that breaching charges were set off in Bryant’s office, when the extraction began, Bryant confronted Parrilla. One of Parrilla’s team, an augmented mercenary, Marisa Nash, subdued him. Parilla then spent precious minutes interrogating Bryant, before putting a single round through his skull. As the panzer left the Tetreault complex he detonated the breaching charges.
Shiawase Acquisition and Recovery:
Weeks earlier, Constantineau had entered into negotiations with Shiawase, they were attracted to the firm’s cutting edge interface software, and the fact that it was established firm, Shiawase to gain a foothold in the Republic of Québec, outside of la Consortium pour
le dévelopment du Québec, which it was forced to share with other AAA Corporate members. When Shiawase learned of the extraction, they demanded access to Constantineau’s personnel files. Learning that Ms. Chase was in fact one of MCT’s Resonence test subjects, they made her retrieval a priority, if only for further information on the results of those tests.
To this end they moved forward with the acquisition, and based on those same personnel files, reached the conclusion that Bryant would be the most motivated to pursue the MCT extraction team, and re-acquire Ms. Chase. Sending a Shiawase recovery team they were able to retrieve and resuscitate Bryant. During the resuscitation, the medical team determined that Bryant possessed a rare genome that reduced the neurological damage implantation would do to his system.
///… Surveillance Footage:Subject Shiawase Recruitment & Acquisition Officer Ulyana Khorzikhov … <<19:10:37.05.29.73>>

As such, the lead on the Acquisition team, Ulyana Khorzikhov, made the decision to give him a new identity. She surmised that, disguised as one of thousands of SIN-less, he could acquire shadow work for MCT’s operations, earning their trust and moving closer to his target. She ordered that further genetech be implanted in the subject, further protecting his system from the extensive augmentations needed to ensure he was fully functional, then she had him implanted with an eclectic mix of Alpha-grade and Street level cyberware that would indicate an affiliation with her employers.
A team of Shiawase neuro-surgeons repaired the neurological damage caused by Parrilla’s gunshot and the resulting concussive blast. Though, at the request of Khorzikhov, they ensured that his hippocampus was unable to access any memories prior to his recovery. She felt that if she could limit his access to his previous memories, she would be able to manipulate him in a much more efficient manner through the controlled flow of information, edited as required.
Benoit Christianson:
Under Khoszikhov’s intrustion, a new identity was created for Bryant, that of Benoit Christianson, a UCAS military veteran with a respectable service record, who became disillusioned with his career on the death of his wife. During the formation of his new identity, Shiawase had located Parrilla, he had relocated to MCT’s Seattle branch where he acted in a Counter Intrusion capacity for the Megacorp. As such, Bryant, now Benoit, was relocated as well and introduced into the local shadow sub-culture by way of a Fixer, Pedro Mendoza.
His first operation with Mendoza involved the recovery of an MCT low level Exec who had become implicated with a Humanis Policlub branch. Benoit was to investigate said branch, and extract the Exec to determine the amount of exposure and damage MCT could be exposed to through the connection. While infiltrating the Humanis cell, Benoit met a Ms. Ivy MacGregor, who seemed committed to the Humanis idealogy. After some discussions he discovered that her Uncle, a Quentin Raleigh, was a member of Lone Star, and an Orc. Raleigh had raised Ivy but she balked under his strict upbringing and joined the Policlub out of spite. Benoit was able to extricate both his target and Ms. MacGregor, who was re-united with her uncle.
Quentin Raleigh resigned the force shortly after the Policlub incident due to Lone Stars unwillingness to assist in the investigation into the cell. As such he and Benoit entered into a partnership as Raleigh Investigations LLC, as an alternative for those people who couldn’t find, or afford, justice from Lone Star or the other corporate law enforcement divisions
