Vicar Aldous Fletch

This mature dwarf is the long-time vicar of St. Peter’s London Docks Church on Wapping Street, “the holiest and homeliest church in London.” Firmly on the “Bible-believing” side of the long-running Church of England schism, Vicar Fletch has spent the last forty years feeding the homeless and saving the godless around London’s docks. More progressive churchmen have on occasion tried to relocate him to less prominent locales, but enough of his once-wayward contacts have over the decades moved into influential positions in the community (both savory and not so much) but he is thoroughly entrenched, basically free to run his parish as he wishes.

An inveterate chain-smoker, he has no patience for gamblers, blasphemers, drinkers, fornicators, or perpetrators of any other acts he lists as “sins against the family” which he sees as the root cause of social decay in his parish. He makes his share of people angry with his strict denunciations, but the local respect his own ascetic life of service has earned means that not even the local gangsters dare oppose him directly.
