2075: Stormy Waters
Honesty
Honesty is a shaman and tatooist with an extremely intimate relationship with her totem, Dog, as well as relationships with a number of other animal totems.
She is a human of indeterminate age, appearing to be in her mid thirties. She is tall and thin, pale of complexion, even-featured but with a rather large nose, and long, naturally curly blond hair, which she wears down except when working on a tattoo. She is given to wearing loose jeans, usually black, and bulky sweaters of costly natural fabrics.
Her day job is creating supernally high quality tattoos, always with an animal theme, and only for personal referrals. For the right price – not always money – she will enchant such tattoos depending on the dictates of her spirit guides.
Her real calling, however, is to guide individuals to their totems. She works only with those that have, for whatever reason, failed to find or properly relate to the totems that have chosen them, and whom the totems are having trouble connecting to themselves. People that seem to need more down-to-earth guidance than dreams, feelings, and visions.
There is a large network of shamans operating on the West Coast and farther afield. Most simply go about their lives, but when they encounter such a “lost” individual, they will feel a prompting, and refer the person to Honesty’s shop, which is called Rocco’s, after the patron saint of dogs.
Rocco’s is located in the entertainment district of Puyallup City, and to most passersby the windows are dark, the neon sign off. Only to those that are referred does the shop appear to be open for business.
In the lobby there are prints of some of her work, and a few antique furnishings upholstered in red velvet, a few incandescent lamps on end-tables, all with dog motifs. This is where Honesty engages her “referrals” in conversation. Through a velvel curtain is her studio, an unfinished workspace with a table and a cement floor and the tools of her trade.
Visitors often see a large while Akita in the shop as well.
She generally listens to exotic bossanova fusions while working.
